Cost estimation
When approximating the total costs, there are a couple of things to consider. In this calculation, Perspex is used instead of plexiglas because this is cheaper. The costs of the Perspex was calculated with CES Edupack, the other materials were found and compared on the internet (references can be found below this page. Some of the costs like, the packaging costs and the costs for man hours, were estimated. The total estimated costs are €176,-. With a margin of 1,5 the selling price will become €264,-
An assumption that IKEA can buy material with a 40% "bulk discount" was made.
(The difference with the consumer price is 20% + 20 % bulk advantage.)
