Below a list of some additions IKEA could make to the design in the future.

 

Customizable

There has been taken into account that for the first edition of the Storsjön, as it is now, the number of article numbers has to be as low as possible. Therfore, in the future IKEA could expand the Storsjön by more choice in colours and sizes.

 

Some components of the Storsjön can be made more customizable for the consumer. In the future it could be possible to sell Storsjön in multiple colours. In this way, the consumer can select a few colours of compartments. So the consumer can choose different colours for the Storsjön to get the colour or colours which fit the consumer and his bathroom best. When these components are in multiple colours, the consumer can easily combine these colours. Because the Storsjön is packaged in three boxes, each containing the wall compartment, middle compartment or outer compartment.

 

Another way to make the Storsjön more customizable is to provide multiple soap trays and cabinets, so it could be possible for the consumer to change its composition of soap trays and cabinets. Whereas the consumer can select if he or she wants more or less soap trays or cabinets.

 

Finally, to make the Storsjön more customizable, is the option to provide different sizes of compartments. With different sizes, the Storsjön will fit in more bathrooms.
