The Storsjön
The Storsjön is a combination of a closet and a shower screen. It can be transformed from a closet to a shower screen because it is able to extend. When the Storsjön is extended, all three components that block the water appear. On these components, the cabinet and soap trays are attached. These cabinets and soap trays are attached on either sides, so products will always be in reach. Because the cabinets are on the dry side, water can not get there.
The Storsjön is designed in such a way that the water does not remain on the closet, so there will be a wet and dry side. The side that gets wet is the showerside, the side that stays dry is the bathroomside. Furthermore, there are close to none attachment holes on the wet side. However, where it was inevitable, the holes were closed off with rubbers to prevent water from flowing in. Because there is no rails that has to be attached to the ceiling or floor, the rails will never be visible when the closet is closed. In this way the accumulation of water is eliminated
The Storsjön fits in most everyday bathrooms with shower sizes of 1.00m to 1.25m.
The dimensions of the Storsjön are:
h w l (all in meters)
Closed 2.10 0.30 0.45
Extended 2.10 0.30 1.25
As is deductable from the table above the minimal distance between the closed Storsjön and the wall is 0.55m, which (showed by research) is enough for the user to get into the shower area. There can be seen the Storsjön is sliding to the right. However, every part can be mirrored at the assembly, causing it to slight left. That way the Storsjön is more applicable in different bathrooms.
When the consumer is going to take a shower, the Storsjön can be extended by pulling the handle on the inside. The compartiments extend and close the shower. Water will get on the acrylic windows and flow down. All the water will drip down on the floor and so the Storsjön does not stay wet. After taking a shower, the consumer closes the compartiments and steps out onto a dry bathroomfloor.
